Our History

Following in the footsteps of his Grandfather, Father, and Brother, Ted LeLacheur regenerated Western Moving + Storage in 1995. After selling the original Company in 1990, Ted set out in 1995 to provide a professional moving and storage business within Alberta.

His first action step was to build a team around the best people in the business. Ted started by hiring Bob Bezanson who at the time had over 12 years experience in the industry. We are pleased that Bob is still with us as a Sales Representative and International Sales consultant. Next, Bruce Gordon joined the Company. Bruce, a second generation Gordon in the moving business, is the ultimate Van Foreman. Bruce has many years experience and doubles as our On-Site Supervisor for many major projects. Paul Sullivan joined us 11 years ago as our Federal Government specialist. As a previous owner of his own moving company, Paul brings us the business acumen required to run an industry-leading moving company. One of Paul's many responsibilities is our Office and Industrial Moving Division. Backed by over 25 years experience, Paul brings his clients' the knowledge to move efficiently and within budget.

Western Moving + Storage is a 100% Alberta owned and operated company with a very long history of quality within the province. After many years as an agent of Allied Van Lines, Western Moving + Storage made the transition to United Van Lines in 2008. United is the largest van line in Canada and the only 100% Canadian owned and operated van line.

While the moving business has changed dramatically over our many years, the fundamentals remain the same. Getting our customers belongings from one point to another in a professional and courteous manner, and ensuring we deliver those precious possessions in the same condition we received them.
